  Grantsmanship

We help municipalities and other qualified entities apply for grants to promote redevelopment of Brownfields and similar sites.  SCS projects in communities as diverse as North Birmingham, Alabama; Weber County, Utah; National City, Poway and El Cajon (San Diego), California; Portsmouth, Virginia; and Woodfin, North Carolina, have received grants from various Federal agencies to promote Brownfields redevelopment and cleanup.  A wide range of grants are available, including:

·         Environmental assessment grants

·         Brownfield’s tax incentives, loans and redevelopment grants

·         Cleanup grants

·         EPA & local revolving loan funds

·         Brownfields Training, Research, and Technical Assistance Grants

·         Tax payers relief act,  community development block grants,
and low interest loans

For several clients, SCS prepared the successful grant application, and then helped implement the resulting assessment or cleanup activities.  EPA publishes guidance and criteria for grant applications, but the process can be mysterious.  With our experience, we can cut through some of the mystery.
